A trustee on the Warrington Mission in the Economy board and a great supporter of MitE's work, Stephen Kingsnorth was recently announced as a freeman of the borough. Described as 'an inspiring community leader,' he received a standing ovation after being presented with the town's highest civic honour at Warrington Town Hall. Lib Dem leader Cllr Bob Barr said 'I can't think of any other citizen more deserving of this title,' and described him as the 'Holy Ghost and guardian angel of Warrington' due to the vast number of community events and schemes he was involved in. Council leader Cllr Terry O'Neill added that Rev Kingsnorth would be hard to replace.
Stephen will be retiring from his role in June and said he plans to 'disappear quietly.'
